Dental Implants for Rock Hill Patients Across the State Line

Rock Hill is the largest city in York County, South Carolina, roughly 25 miles south of Charlotte, and downtown connects to Interstate 77 at Exit 79 on Dave Lyle Boulevard. Replacing missing teeth is a decision worth making carefully, and for many Rock Hill patients it also means choosing a practice across the state line. Our office is at 3135 Springbank Lane, Suite 150, in south Charlotte (28226), so you will head north on I-77 and cross into North Carolina. Traffic changes with the hour, so give yourself extra time on appointment day.

Dr. Edwin Porter, DDS, FAGD, DICOI, is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Charlotte Magazine has named him a Top Dentist for more than 20 years. Our dental implant care, from imaging and planning through the final teeth, is handled at this one address, and our areas we serve page shows the other communities our patients travel from.

Tooth Replacement Options We Offer to York County Patients

a model of two placed dental implants

If you have lost one tooth, an implant keeps the repair local to that spot. A titanium post takes the place of the root, and a porcelain crown goes on top.

The teeth on either side stay untouched, and the jawbone keeps getting the stimulation it needs. Our dental implants page walks through the full process.

a model of an implant supported denture

A denture that rocks or clicks can take the pleasure out of eating. Securing it to implants gives it a firm footing, so it behaves more like part of your mouth than a removable accessory.

The implants also keep working the bone beneath, which a conventional denture cannot do. See whether you may be a candidate for implant-supported dentures.

All-On-4 Full Arch Dental Implant Model

An entire upper or lower arch can be replaced with a fixed bridge held by four implants. With All-on-4, a functional set of teeth is often ready on the day of surgery.

Treatment is designed on a computer from 3D scans, so the position of each implant is decided before surgery begins.

a dental iv sedation bag

If dental visits make you tense, or you are booking something lengthy, ask about sedation dentistry. Choices include nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation.

With oral or IV sedation, someone else must drive you home, which matters if you are coming back down I-77 afterward.

Cosmetic Treatments Our Rock Hill Patients Ask About

Teeth whitening before and after comparison

Years of coffee, tea, or red wine leave marks that regular brushing does not touch. In-office teeth whitening works on those deeper stains using professional-strength products.

It is done at the office rather than at home, so we can watch how your teeth and gums respond.

Dental Patient Holding Up Invisalign Retainers

Instead of metal brackets, Invisalign uses clear plastic trays that are swapped out in sequence as your teeth shift. Dr. Porter is one of the top Invisalign providers in Charlotte.

You remove the trays for meals and cleaning, then put them back in.

Porcelain veneers cover the visible side of a tooth with a thin, custom-made shell. They can address chips, spacing, uneven edges, and discoloration that whitening alone will not fix.

We shape each one around the neighboring teeth so the finished smile looks like one set.

Cerec Dental Crown Milling Equipment

Crowns protect teeth that are broken, worn down, or have large fillings. Bridges close gaps by attaching replacement teeth to anchors on either side.

With CEREC technology, a same-day crown can often be designed, milled, and placed in a single visit, which is helpful when you are traveling in from another state.

Making the Most of Each Trip

A longer drive makes it worth grouping work together. At your consultation we look at what is needed, put the steps in order, and see where appointments might be combined.

How We Plan Visits for Rock Hill Patients
1
Consultation and Imaging
Dr. Porter reviews your health history and your 3D cone beam images, so the plan starts from your own anatomy.
2
Sequencing Your Visits
We put treatment in order and look for places where appointments can be combined.
3
Treatment and Follow-Up
Surgery, restorations, and aftercare are handled at one office, and CEREC can mean same-day crowns for suitable cases.

Consultations are complimentary. We welcome out-of-network patients and will go over how your benefits may apply, and our insurance and financing page covers CareCredit, Cherry, and Proceed Finance. Patients without insurance can ask about the Premier Dental Savings Program. The American Dental Association encourages patients to ask about alternatives and to seek a second opinion when a recommendation feels uncertain, and we welcome those conversations.

All-on-4 for Replacing a Full Arch

When most of the teeth in one jaw are gone or cannot be saved, eating and speaking become a daily struggle. Left alone, the missing teeth also mean the bone that supported them gradually shrinks.

All-on-4 answers both problems with four implants carrying a fixed arch of teeth. The two rear implants are placed at an angle to use available bone, which can reduce the need for bone grafting in some cases. Planning is done on screen, and many patients leave surgery with a working set of teeth. A final set follows once the area has healed.

How Your Implant Options Compare
OptionWhat it replacesHow it is held in place
Single implantOne missing toothA titanium post in the jaw topped with a custom crown, so neighboring teeth stay untouched
Implant-supported dentureMany or all teeth in an archA few implants that anchor the denture so it stays steady when you chew and speak
All-on-4A full upper or lower archFour implants carrying a fixed arch of teeth, planned from 3D scans before surgery

Not sure which fits? Our comparison of implants, dentures, and bridges goes deeper, and Dr. Porter confirms candidacy after reviewing your 3D images and health history.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants in Rock Hill, SC

Most people take I-77 north from Rock Hill into Charlotte. Rock Hill is roughly 25 miles south of the city, and our office sits at 3135 Springbank Lane, Suite 150, in south Charlotte (28226). Because I-77 traffic shifts during the day, allow extra time for the first visit.

No. We welcome patients from just across the state line, and our consultations are complimentary. We welcome out-of-network patients, so bring your insurance card and we will go over how your benefits may apply.

Often, yes. Planning, surgery, and restorations are handled in one office, and CEREC technology allows same-day crowns for suitable cases. How many visits you need depends on your treatment, and we will map that out at your consultation.

You will need a responsible adult to drive you. Sedation can leave you groggy for hours, so driving yourself is not an option. We will confirm your arrangements before the appointment.

A single implant replaces one tooth. Implant-supported dentures and bridges replace several, with a few implants doing the anchoring. All-on-4 rebuilds a whole arch on four implants. Your scans and goals decide which fits.

Sometimes. The angled placement of the back implants can make use of the bone that is still available. Whether you are a candidate is a call Dr. Porter makes after reviewing your 3D images and health history.

We welcome out-of-network patients and will review how your benefits may apply. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, and Proceed Finance, and the Premier Dental Savings Program is an option for patients without insurance. We go over costs with you before treatment begins.

You are welcome to. The American Dental Association encourages patients to ask about their options and to seek a second opinion if a recommendation feels uncertain. Bring your questions and any records from another office to your consultation, and Dr. Porter will go over them with you.

Comfortable Care Through Sedation Dentistry

Some people put off treatment for years because of nerves. Others simply dread sitting through a long procedure. Sedation lets either group get care done.

We provide nitrous oxide for light relaxation, oral sedation for a deeper calm, and IV sedation for the most relaxed experience. Dr. Porter has completed advanced training in oral sedation and is board-certified in its safe administration. For oral and IV sedation, plan for a driver, since you will not be able to make the drive back across the state line yourself. We also keep comfort items such as noise-canceling headphones and blankets on hand.
