Our Personalized CEREC™ Process

The first thing our patients notice about our CEREC™ treatment process is how fast and comfortable it is! With CEREC™, we can eliminate the hassles and discomforts of conventional treatment, like goopy paste impressions and long wait times in temporary teeth. Your entire treatment is digital! We’ll first begin with a personalized treatment where we learn about your tooth problem and smile goals. Next, we’ll take digital impressions using an intraoral scanner that we upload to our sophisticated design software. We’ll design your new restoration to fit perfectly in your mouth and with existing teeth to the exact color, shape, and size.

Next, we’ll send this information to our in-house CEREC milling machine, which will fabricate your new restoration while you wait comfortably in the chair. We’ll then make any finishing touches and polish your crown or bridge before bonding it securely to your tooth or teeth. Your new restoration, made from porcelain or ceramic materials, will blend seamlessly with your existing teeth and be strong enough to bite and chew foods comfortably once again. You’ll leave our office in under two hours with a brand-new tooth and a restored smile! No hassle, no discomfort, and no temporaries!

Frequently Asked Questions About Same-Day Crowns and Bridges in Charlotte, NC

At Charlotte Dental Arts, same-day CEREC crowns cost between $1,700 and $2,200. The cost depends on the tooth location and complexity of your case. A written treatment plan with full pricing is provided before any procedure begins. Financing is available starting as low as $110/month through CareCredit, Cherry, and Proceed Finance.
A traditional crown requires two appointments over two to three weeks with a temporary crown in between. A CEREC same-day crown is designed, milled, and seated in a single two to three hour appointment at Charlotte Dental Arts. No temporary crown, no second visit, no goopy impressions.
Dr. Porter has completed more than 6,000 CEREC same-day restorations in-house and serves as visiting faculty at the CEREC digital training facility in Scottsdale, AZ. CEREC crowns are milled from high-strength dental ceramic matched to the color of your natural teeth and designed to last 15 or more years with proper care.
Crowns are recommended when a tooth is cracked, severely decayed, broken, or has been significantly weakened by a root canal. Bridges replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring to adjacent teeth or implant posts. Dr. Porter will evaluate your specific situation and recommend the most appropriate restoration during your consultation.
Crown and bridge placement is performed under local anesthesia and is not painful during the procedure. Some sensitivity around the treated tooth is normal for a few days afterward and typically resolves on its own. Sedation is available for patients who prefer to be relaxed throughout the procedure.
Most PPO dental insurance plans cover crowns when treatment is medically necessary, such as for a tooth that has structural damage or has received a root canal. Purely cosmetic crown placement is typically not covered. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and explain exactly what your plan covers.
